Los
Angeles, known as "L.A." or the "City
of Angels", is the largest city in the state of California
and the second-largest in the United States, as well as one
of the world's major global cities. The city has a population
of over 3.9 million within 498 square miles. It is the core
cultural and economic center of the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan
area, a region home to over 17 million people.
